Rakes are the eighteenth century equivalent of assassins and spies. Rakes are spawned in villages by theater buildings.Duels are often, but not always, fatal and generally are far more likely to succeed than assassination attempts by rakes. Researchers can also move into enemy territory where they can duel other gentlemen or attempt to steal technology by moving to an opposing school. If you move a researcher to a school they will contribute research points to the technology being researched. Researchers are spawned in region capitals by observatories and are the most valuable type of gentlemen. There are three major types of gentlemen: But if it's too much for you (Darthmod I mean) then try a better mod like NTW3 or LME4, they aren't as OP as Darthmod and more realistic rather than arcadey. You'll get the hang of Napoleon eventually. That artillery is probably the strength of their army, without them they are nothing.nothing. Give them something to focus on (some call them meatshields, I call them the forlorn hope, let the cannons do their worst whilst you scurry around them with your cavalry. You'll learn how to tackle such things with time, everything has a weak point and 5 regts of 12lbers have them too, it's called enemy cavalry. Yeah that sounds a pretty bad a-rse rebel force. im triggert they run me over and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ me. wtf? not only one or so no 5 of them and all units are vets soooo. Originally posted by Ghostkiwo (☭ ͜ʖ ☭):wtf so i play as scottland and i was fighting ireland and i won i removed taxes and i hat 6 units of militia in the capital dublin after couple rounds they revolt im like "ehh okay gonna take them out" i get my main army and went to attack them only to see they have 12pounders. They are annoying though, but you'll soon pacify the city and then reap the reward. Never seen a militia army of any seriously troubling units, the best is usually scores of regular infantry, which again is easily dealt with, kill the general too and the rebels will be nothing more than training fodder. I've never had rebellions that I couldn't deal with though, in most cases they have usually been heavily numbered with militia or light infantry or cavalry, each has an easy counter measure, either cavalry tactics to deal with infantry or infantry squares to deal with numerous cavalry regiments. That way the AI wont spawn something that will match your forces. Another trick is to move the regular troops out of the region but close enough to react to the uprising. I've also heard that gentlemen have a positive effect on rebellious cities, but that's not something I tend to do, because they are more important in the universities. Once you pacify the city, recruit it's own militia and have the travelling militia follow you round as you conquer cities and towns. You can unburden the city too by not taxing it for a short time, or at least until the happiness improves. ![]() The way to deal with them is to have Militia readily available to move into the capital which will lessen the unhappiness, because militia are good for garrison durties and have a better effect on captured cities. Some cities are worse for rebellions than others, usually capitals. I don't think you can fix them, they are just a part of the game.
